WOW! First off, amazing art!
This piece creates a relaxed, romantic and content atmosphere with all the warm colors even amidst cooler colors, giving some wonderful contrast. The mood is even more apparent because of the people, holding hands, and the dog, 'a man's best friend'.
What's really wonderful is your unique style: like most impressionist art, the strokes are easy to see, but you use this to create more depth and contrast in your art. The best part is that being able to see the different brush strokes does not at all take away from the beauty of your art. It's also worth noting that the painting looks more realistic from far away but it appears more surreal up close. Although it's the contrast that makes the colors so vibrant, when considering the artwork as a whole and not individual areas in it, it can seem like too much is going on.
It's obvious that you're a master with the palette knife due to the fact that you can seemingly create different textures while still maintaining your trademark style of having the strokes easily visible. It's especially impressive how you created the reflections of the light on the water. Another wonderful thing is how the paint isn't truly blended, but the colors work seamlessly together to create the appearance of being blended. In this painting, the colors become less intense to give depth to the bridge and the rest of the town. However a few of the trees on the left don't seem to have enough depth. Your color choice is very effective. The little dabs of pink provide a sort of middle ground for the warm colors on the right and the cool color on the left.
Overall, it's an amazing piece. The colors are vibrant, well integrated and work together nicely. The atmosphere of the piece feels calm and alive.
Well done!
