I love the reflection and the composition on this painting. The contrast and colors are beautiful too, i prefer when it's not too much colored But you know how i like to paint almost monochrome colors...
Your technique with the palette knife is amazing! You really capture the "liquified world" during and after a rain. And the texture! I love when a painting has so much texture that it almost becomes sculpture. Happy creating!
I love this painting and I have recently marked it as one of my favourites. I just happened to see another artist did their own rendition of this very piece. I didnt see any reference to your original painting though, not sure if you knew they did a copy of your painting.
rainny day. by artist ~katerinakii
I know I would be upset if someone did a copy of one of my pieces and didnt atleast reference my name as the original artist.
i could give you a long and loquacious positive critique based on my bachelor's and master's work in studio art--the way the subtle purples juxtapose against the oranges to enhance depth and saturation, the luminosity, blah blah blah.....but i think i would prefer to thank you sincerely for the way that this piece has given me access to emotions that personal circumstances have buried for years. all of the formal elements quite literally conspire to overwhelm the viewer (or at least me) with incredible nostalgia. it's a sense of elusive security. i feel like i'm inside the kid's warm jacket. thank you. this work is beautiful and if i had any money i would purchase a print of it in a heartbeat.
