I love this Painting, Since most of your paintings are dominated by yellow and orange colours, it is very refreshing to see the blue in the Painting. I have ordered three of your Surprise paintings and I hope this one will be one of them. Thank you, Leonid for delighting the world with the Beauty of your Art. I wish you and your lovely family all the best in life. Love, Prochy
Hmm... the figures in the painting being solid vertical lines really make them stand out against the strokes of the background. The use of color contrast really creates a sense of depth. I love the moment where the building changes to the roof on the right side, and how there is no distinct line separating the facade from the roof, yet the difference between is huge. This is a wonderful piece!
I've seen your work featured somewhere else before...
A street reflecting the light after the rain. You got the feel of it well, be careful that there is a balance lest it look too garish, the colours show little mixing as though you used them as they were straight from the tube.
(Art critics will remark on little competency in mixing colours, and might say your painting is akin to a Vietnamese street painting in which the colour was daubed on with a palette knife.)
Because all your strokes are more or less the same length, width and direction there is no effective focal point, and it looks flat. Try blending a teensy bit, but not so much that it messes up your distinct style. Or if for example if you like the hard edges of your strokes, just use a smaller palette knife, gradually the strokes become smaller and smaller to give the illusion of perspective.
Overall it's nice work. Keep it up, but try new things to make sure you do not stagnate, and also keep pushing yourself. It is a very lively painting. Light glimmers in it. You know how to handle colours, but can you mix them?
(Forgive me for the long review, you did mention you like constructive criticism. )
Oh wow! I love this! The strong colors, the shinings and the reflections ... just wonderful! The light source are simply perfect implemented... and the perspective remember me of a old scene in my memory.
And I know this is alot of work... because I know that you have to wait for the oil. So you are able to add the bright colors.
Just wonderful.. really at all! A amazing job dude!
