I would say the Vision is 5 star, but the reason I give 2 stars for originality is that it seems to be the theme of many of his works, the umbrella, the people walking down rainy streets and paths, and the wet reflections of the asphalt are something that is repeated in many of them.
Do not get me wrong, I love his colors and the style of almost all his work, but this one just doesn't pop as much as the others in color, the hues of cobalt blues and viridian green are not as present in this work as of others. The tree/sky color seems a little overworked, the colors are muddier than his others. I would assume(although I hate to ) that the artist got a bit annoyed by it and if he is anything like me tried to fix it.
I like the lamps, they are nicely done, and make me smile. It seems that he used the golden ratio** with the placement of the woman, which makes the overall image more appealing and helps you not notice the muddiness of the leaves.
I would buy this, and hang it proudly.
NOTE:
**Golden Ratio or Divine proportion wiki~ [link] will explain the term, it helps you find the correct focal points in art to make the image more appealing to the onlooker. It is a math problem also to help layout a never ending spiral etc. It is a very important concepts to artists.
