Wow, the colours ellcit a tranquil amospheric night. The rich,warm colours portrayed as lights project forward, bouncing off onto the waters, going against the cool, low intensity colours.The painting has a plausible perspective. You used various low tonal contrast and cool colours at the background(bridge) implied an atmospheric depth format.
You have applied the colours with a flat brush juxtaposed and overlapped (seconadry and primary?)colours- creating the "broken colours" effect.As i looked a bit closer of the river, you mostly placed the colours horizontal therefore giving the reponse of river's water as peaceful and restful.
As far as i could see you have successfully obtained a visual cohesiveness- leading smoothly the viwers' eyes around the river to the bridge.

The colors certainly draw the eye. I love the shape of the canal, it brings the attention of the viewer to the center of the painting. The contrasts between cool and warm colors are done so beautifully. Good job!
