Mysterious night in Paris by Leonid Afremov

I look at this and I think to myself 'whoa, I hardly ever see this kind of color in paintings these days'. Reminds me so much of early post impressionist painters with the clearly pallet knife application of paint. Almost has the appearance of a paper collage. Beautiful attention to detail even with such a stylistic approach to handling the paint. Such a vibrant color pallet that explodes with energy and yet, at the same time gives a warming appeal when you think about the setting that's being shown in the composition itself. If you ask me, I think I've just found a new artist to start following. Keep bringing up the amazing work.
