I absolutely love the quality of light in your paintings - they look so vivid and colorful, and the way you incorporate reflections is beautiful.  I think that's my favorite part of this painting, the way the path picks up the light and color from the lamps and trees above. Gorgeous!

I always love your use of colors. I can't use palette knives so well, so your work amazes me.

I absolutely love the texture and the detail that you've created in the foreground. The bench looks exactly as I would imagine: details not too obvious, but there nonetheless, and the texture you've created makes it very easy to trace the contours with your eyes as you would run your fingers over it.

Personally I think the figure could have had more contrast to stand out, despite the distance. She is easy to miss--I would not have noticed her for quite some time were it not for the title of this piece. My eyes were immediately drawn to the bench, then up the lightpost and to the trees, making me miss her completely. After staring a bit longer, though, I was able to find her because of the lines of the street. The fact that it takes so long to see her, though, makes me question her importance.

The vivid and wide spectrum of colors does not make the piece feel as though it is a disappointment that she left, though. But I do like the way it appears that life just continues on without necessarily reflecting the possible disappointment.
