While I'm not a college student, I don't think an average student of that age group would be likely to pay that much. Your paintings are absolutely wonderful, but most students probably either don't have the money to spare or don't think it's something they actually need. First of all, it would be hard for them to take the painting with them when they move around, either from dorm to dorm or back home for the holidays, and secondly they usually would rather spend the money on the more basic necessities. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely ADORE your work and would love to be able to purchase one myself if I had the money, but I think that the average college student would have more urgent reasons to spend $139 on. ^^
Sir, even though your paintings are beautiful, I can tell you right now that the average college student probably would not spend that much money on a painting.
Almost everybody is using loans and scholarships nowadays to pay for higher education, plus taxes, the recession, lack of available work for part-timers, health insurance, car insurance, just GETTING a car or computer for school-- the cost of living totally outweighs how much money the average college student makes.
Even if a college student HAD that much money, they would more likely use it for other things. Jeez, me and my roommate sometimes worry if we can afford something other than instant ramen to eat. Some text books themselves cost over $100. Not mention that a college student moves an average of 2-3 times a year, and even when dorming at school a student must worry about vandalism and theft, which also discourages the purchase of delicate and costly items.
Of course, that's not to say that no one would buy the paintings. A recently graduated student, for example, may buy one to display in a new apartment. However, I don't think many college students would drop over $100 on a painting, whether they could afford it at that moment or not.
Its a very good deal for all, but specifying college students is a bit tough. Most of us have troubles scrounging up enough to pay for rent and the bills. However in the future when I personally don't have the rent and bill problem, I would love to see this deal!
