I think brain, because in my opinion our soul and heart is in our brain.

You guys do realize that we have a much more intricate knowledge of the way the human body works than they did in the middle ages. The heart pumps blood, it is not the seat of neurological activity; the brain is. Furthermore, it is incredibly unlikely that the "soul" exists. I believe that most people, when they say "the soul or the heart" really mean to say "the brain," so why don't we just say "the brain?" I hate turns of phrase :iconeyerollplz:

yeah, but it's not like people mean them literally, of course--as I'm sure you know.

all, because the idea comes from within and the realisation from the brain : how to blend colors, technics of the camera and how to use PS tools...

most of all, art comes from Singularity... It can make appear or disappear... Art is a matter of phenomena.
Think a supernova exploding, or appearing from the nothing, even the Big Bang itself, or even the collision of an asteroid with planet Earth in the end of the Cretaceous Period... That's all the same with Arts, because it's a "great explosion", be it from the "nothingness" or for the sake of mankind's deeper transformation/evolution.
Art exists in this dimension even before mankind... thus cannot be understood by mere human terms... :smoking:

For you, in fact, I'm bullshitting, bro... For your so much reasoned brain, of course I do, precisely because you have understood nothing in my comment...
Don't worry, I don't give a shit... :smoking:

Wow, you unbelievably rude and sexist asshole. I know what you mean by singularity and I disagree. Art is a word coined by human beings to represent a certain aspect of human understanding. Due to the subjective nature of human experience, the word "art" means exactly what whoever uses it intends it to mean. It is impossible that an understanding of art be beyond our reach if "art" is a word that was created by the human species. If you want to say that art is beyond comprehension, you may as well say the "green" is beyond comprehension or "dogs" or "trees" or "mice" as well. True, you could claim that these concepts are black boxes ie. designed and created before they are *fully* understood, but the *word* still implies a certain understanding. Also, the world is deterministic. There is no such thing as phenomena.

Do you really understood what I meant about Phenomena?
omg! You even made a misrepresented interpretation on determinism in relation to phenomena, as if both were separated -- is this really what I've understood in your comment??... Come on! You can only understand things by the limited human terms... and Singularity is much beyond such... You need to get outside the box.
By the way, I really apologize if I have offended and disturbed you... That was not my intention... You're throwing very precipitated judgments about me, and this make me really disappointed...
If you want, I may recommend some nice books which deals with the subjects we have discussed here, just to pay off your resentments...

With me, brain first and then heart. But not soul. Unfortunately there was no option for "two of the above" so I had to abstain.

Soul when you just start to draw.
Heart comes in after your soul starts paving the way for emotion.
Brain when you start to take art seriously and/or go to art lessons.

All 3 when your brain tires after a few years.

lol My opinion, anyway.

All of them. You need heart to know about which feelings will you work, you need soul to inspirate yourself and you need brain to know how to create your picture.

All!

Because the heart gives you the ability to remain conscious and live to experience memories and learn, the metaphorical soul gives you a sense of inspiration and empathy, and the brain allows you to translate ethereal and ephemeral ideas into real muscular motions and pictures.

I like to imagine that Art is the unification of Science and Fantasy; inconceivable worlds are brought to light by chemical receptors in your central nervous system. It makes me happier and gives me reason to steadfastly study my insanely hard technical disciplines while I practice liberal arts such as drawing, playing the violin, and sometimes creative writing.

Well, since I don't believe in a soul in any non-metaphorical sense, and since the heart is just a muscle for pumping blood around the body, gotta say brain. It's all chemicals in the brain. :)

I think it's a mixture, because you can be inspired by anything and in many ways. You could be driven to create because you love something, because it moves you, or because it fascinates you, and most of the time I would guess it's a bit of "all of the above". :)

All of the above. It's a combination between them. Experience, feelings, personality, ideology, religion, our past...
