I don't know what the old website looked like, so I can't compare, but ...

This is very much a personal preference, but despite the fact that the site has a nice layout, user-friendly, and best of all, error free - it just seems so ... commercialized. I know the goal is to sell your beautiful paintings, but I just feel like it's not designed to display your work at its best advantage. It seems to add a feeling of ... I don't know, mediocrity? to the paintings. I'm not sure that's the right word. It doesn't show the paintings off as something unique and special and worth the money, but more like some poster you'd get from any random site online. Now I'm not sure what market you're aiming for, but this site design just doesn't scream high-end to me, which could possibly hurt sales.

Besides my issue with the overall look, the content is very nice. There's so much great information you've included that really makes me want to spend the time looking through everything. I agree with a previous poster that it's nice to have a face to go with the name.

Sorry I was so negative, and as I said, it's my personal opinion. From the comments I've read on here, I seem to be in the minority. I'm only speaking as a graphic/sometimes-web designer and from the recent experience I had with redesigning my own website (though mine's mostly gallery since nobody wants my prints). :)
