The quick, parallel strokes of a palette knife emphasize the viewer's perception of space without distorting the wet, vibrant streaks of color on the ground. This clearly took a steady hand.

Elsewhere, what amazes me is how the strokes are so "deliberately scattered".

The more watery strokes towards the center of the canvas add to the depth of the painting, drawing the eye in towards the couple. At the same time, the strokes that shape every detail are far from sloppy. Amidst all the blues and crystalline surreal design, I can still make out fine details, like the woman's hair and the man's loose hand. On top of that, you can even see the glow reflecting off of the man from his right.
Then the trees follow this same pattern, with the darkest trees painted more towards the viewer. The front tree in particular has quite the illusion of texture, with the amber glow reflecting off of the bark.

My only criticism to this painting would probably be a couple places in the right area. I cannot identify the turquoise object next to the woman in the white dress, but the illusion of perspective might be enhanced if it was painted in front of her, looking as if it was placed directly below her left arm. If it was to be kept where it is, then instead, it would help if the length of the object was parallel with the lines of the bench.

The tree directly behind the woman feels slightly clunky, but I think that's because there are a couple strokes of yellow and lavender that are superimposed upon it, so the perspective feels off.

However, these are very very minor details. Aside from that, this painting depicts the degree of wonder and amazement in the world that few ever see, but many dream of.
