I am against wild animals as pets. Unless you are a properly trained professional and have been certified by an animal protection agency to keep it with proper living conditions, you should not be attempting to keep it as a pet. Both for the safety of the animal and yourself, you should consider finding it a proper home. Not knowing what kind of monkey or ape it is means not knowing how to take care of it, which is dangerous for both. I am worried about the health, safety and happiness of the animal. Whether or not it would be able to live in the wild again, it shouldn't be bought as a pet, and you shouldn't give it sanctuary yourself without serious background research and proper knowledge. There are animal sanctuaries for abandoned/abused/etc. wild animals, and I suggest you look into finding one.
